Opening Conference: USAID Macedonian Anticorruption Program
The opening conference marking the official launch of the USAID Macedonia Anti-Corruption Program was held on 18 September 2013 in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia. The Program is implemented by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation (MCIC) in partnership with the Institute for Democracy “Societas Civilis” - Skopje (IDSCS), Transparency International - Macedonia and the Association for Democratic Initiatives – Gostivar (ADI). more »
 
Round table: Assessing Terrorists Threats
On 16 September 2013, the Center for the Study of Democracy held a roundtable discussion on the latest developments regarding terrorist threats in the Middle East. Mr. Brian Jenkins, Senior Adviser to the President of the RAND Corporation presented to the audience the current situation in Egypt, the possible outcomes of the civil war in Syria and the developments within Al-Qaeda. more »

Round table: Prospects of Terrorism Financing and Terrorism Violence in the Middle East
On 30 July 2013, the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) organized a round table discussion on the financing of terrorism and violence in the Middle East. The keynote presenter at the event was Mr. Brian Michael Jenkins, Senior Adviser to the President of the RAND Corporation and author of numerous books, reports, and articles on terrorism-related topics. more »
 
Workshop: Civil Society Involvement in Anti-Corruption Efforts
In April and July 2013, the Center for the Study of Democracy hosted two workshops, aimed at increasing the capacity of civil society in Romania to work on anti-corruption policies. more »
 
Financing of International Terrorism
On 18 June 2013, the Center for the Study of Democracy (CSD) organized a round table on Financing of International Terrorism. The keynote speaker of the event was Dr. Matthew Levitt, Director, Stein Program on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, The Washington Institute for Near East Policy and former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis at the U.S. Department of Treasury. Dr. Ognian Shentov, Chairman of CSD, opened the discussion, which is part of a series of events dedicated to the financing of terrorism. more »

On 30 May 2013, the Center for the Study of Democracy held a roundtable on the "Challenges to public policy for the development of civil society". In her opening remarks, Dr. Maria Yordanova, Director of the Law Program of the Center for the Study of Democracy, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the debate and the strategy for registry reform in Bulgaria. more »
