Former CSD Interns
The Center for the Study of Democracy offers an internship opportunity for outstanding university students, who are interested in gaining experience in an interdisciplinary public policy think tank. You will have the opportunity to work with leading researchers and policy analysts on economic and legal issues in Bulgaria and the European Union in the major areas of engagement for CSD.
You can apply to one of CSD’s four programs, depending on your professional interests. Economists, jurists, sociologists and criminologists are welcome to apply. The main research areas for 2018 are described here.

fluency in English (second major EU language will be considered an advantage)

Interns are expected to be well organized and able to adapt to a varying workload. They should have a strong desire to learn, a sense of responsibility as well as adaptability and flexibility, team work, initiative and enthusiasm.
CSD offers half-day or full-day internships, with precedence being given to candidates with a minimum commitment of three months. Interns should devote between 20 and 40 hours per week with a possibility for flexible working time.
Upon entering CSD internship program, each intern will be assigned a long-term commitment task, based on their individual competencies / interests and built around CSD’s core policy / research focus. Interns will also be assigned short-term tasks corresponding to the needs of the current program / project development and implementation cycle. For the period of their commitment, interns will be granted full access to CSD’s library and to interviews with CSD experts, as well as to CSD’s network of external contacts and associates.
The internship is unpaid. Specific tasks might involve remuneration.

Prior to joining the CSD internship program, approved candidates from abroad should obtain any relevant medical, accident and / or liability insurance for the whole period of their commitment with CSD.
