|On November 6, 2001 the New Bulgarian University hosted a Round Table "Corruption and Success of the Transition", organized by the Political Science Department. The NBU Rector Professor Ivanka Apostolva and Assoc. Prof. Antoni Todorov, opened the Round Table. Political corruption, corruption and privatization, and corruption and social values were among the main topics discussed. Among the participants were lecturers and students of the Political Science Department.
Dr. Alexander Stoyanov, Director of Research at the Center for the Study of Democracy, presented the Corruption Monitoring System and Corruption Indexes for November 2001. Dr. Zhivka Damyanova and Mr.Tihomir Bezlov presented Coalition 2000 anti-corruption initiatives. Mr. Bezlov announced the results of the experts' group work on the problems of corruption and trafficking. Summarizing the results of the Round Table, Assoc. Prof. Antoni Todorov emphasized on the fact that Political Science Department will continue the discussion on the problems of countering corruption and in particular the various aspects of anti-corruption education.
