Administrative Justice Reform in Bulgaria: Necessity and Opportunity
A National Conference "Administrative Justice Reform in Bulgaria: Necessity and Opportunity" took place at the Boyana Residence on January 23-24, 2003. The conference was organized under a joint project of the Bulgarian Ministry of Justice and the United Nations Development Programme, called "Comprehensive Review of the Administrative Justice System of Bulgaria". It was implemented in cooperation with the Supreme Administrative Court of the Republic of Bulgaria and with the financial support of UNDP and the British Embassy. Its main objective was to produce concrete recommendations related to the establishment of democratic administrative law framework and mechanisms to improve access to administrative justice. The final report and recommendations of the project were presented at the above-mentioned event. The main objective of the National Conference was to discuss the final report's findings and recommendations and to develop a strategy for their implementation.
